[Music] Hey guys, welcome back to another sew with me for the flowering quilt along. This comes in our so sampler box from Fat Quarter Shop. I shall link them down below in the description box if you want to check them out. I am an affiliate, so it does help me if you use my links. This one is called What’s Up Buttercup? Block number seven. Let’s get started. I’ve already cut my fabric. I’m using mostly my Lori Holt stash. Let’s get started. First up, we’re going to make some four at a some two at a time half square blocks out of A and E. So, two A’s and two E right sides together. And we’re going to sew not center, not corner to corner, but a fourth of an inch to the left and the right of the center. Oh, I am just not feeling well at all. I think I missed some doses of my meds. I always forget to take my daytime meds, which is my estrogen and my heartburn medicine and some vitamin D. I had the worst heartburn on the face of the planet. Oh, I I took it today, but it’s like not a fast acting one. It’s, you know, the kind you’re supposed to keep in your system all the time. So, it’s rare in its ugly head. I’ve drank about three glasses of milk, I think, and that does help. It makes me nauseous when I have heartburn. I was fighting the nausea all night long in bed. All right. Cut these in half in between your stitch lines and press. Whoops. I didn’t cut it all the way. Press to the dark side. And we’re squaring up to four and 14. It’s an odd sizing, isn’t it? Four and 14. I am your mother. You listen to me. Oh, I’m just barely getting anything off. I hate being nauseous. I hate it. I think that’s why I was so sick with Sam when I was pregnant with Sam because um I had horrible heartburn with both my pregnancies. But for some reason with my first one, they didn’t give me heartburn medicine and I threw up the entire pregnancy. It was miserable. And with Stella, they gave me heartburn medicine and it was a whole new world. [Music] Now with this baby, oh my gosh, y’all. Oh, whoops. Cat’s out of the bag. I’m PG. Just kidding. Okay, next. A and F. We’re making eight of these. That’d be a modern medical miracle. 51 and PG. Assume we’re going to Yeah, we’re squaring these up to the same size. Cut these apart. Take them back through. Except this one. I am your mother. You listen to me. TGIF. Ladies and gentlemen, are you V excited for it? I am. Okay. Square these up. Oh my gosh. Big heartburn. Oh yeah. When I was pregnant, I couldn’t even That was the first time I ever had heartburn when I was pregnant. Of course, I was a lot thinner back then. But that was the first time I ever had uh heartburn. And I It was horrible with Sam. I couldn’t with Stella too. I couldn’t eat pepperoni pizza at all. It would give me horrible heartburn. I am your mother. You listen to me. Cut them apart. Press to the dark and square them up. Okay, square these bad boys up. Why did I make this weird? There we go. Got to have that line, that seam. Oh, scared myself. Got to have that seam line right on that middle seam. The line on your ruler to the line on your project. I like this vlog. Don’t Sam’s at work right now. He works for a 8:30. Janie decided to stay a whole another week in Vegas. So, that’s wonderful for her. That’s not wonderful for me because this house is a disaster. I’m going to Oh gosh, I don’t even want to think about it. So yeah, it’s it’s looking rough up in here. Looking rough up in here. Yeah, it was really bad during Oh, it was a real struggle during co I didn’t have a anybody clean my house for like a year, two years. It was a nightmare. It was a nightmare. [Music] I’ve been enjoying watching my Married to Medicine show. I’m still on season 10. Oh, I’ve missed my reality TV. I haven’t been reading as much because I’ve been watching that. I’m still on that Welcome Home Baby girl book by Fanny Flag. I’m about halfway through it. It’s like a 14 hour long audio book. So, and I’ve barely been listening to it, so it’s taken me a hot minute. It’s not that great. Okay, now we’re going to make four of these units here with a green and a red. Basically making four four patches. This is the top row of all four. Okay, the bottom row is going to be this one and B. All right, pull these off with my block on the side. I’m still making that postage stamp quilt out of my 1 and 1/2 in scraps. Use them as leaders and enders. Right. Cut all these apart and press to the green and the white. So the white and on these the green And they should nest when we put them together. This guy and this guy. Nice. Perfection. a freaking bobin. Oh, it’s getting on my nerves. Let me go change it again. Okay, my spool just shot off there and went flying. Shot off like a spinning top. And I said, “What the heck? It’s back there somewhere. It was It ran out. I like to use those little spools up on my bottom. Okay, next is C and G. And we’re going to make four of these units. We’re snowballing the top two corners. So, corner to corner, right down the middle of the red block. That turned out awesome. All right. Oops. Oh, that one doesn’t look very good. I’ve jinxed myself with the first one because the rest of them look like crap. Why you got to be so damn rude? Fed up with you. Fed up with all [Music] Let me see if I can make any of these better. That one’s really That one’s really hor those are all horrible. Let’s go with the worst horrible. I think they’re all equally horrible, though. I don’t know how I did these so horribly, but they’re really bad. So, I’m going to rip them. I know. It has to be pretty bad for me to get Jack out. All right, let’s get some pins on the case. Let’s get some pins on the case. You better be right this time, little lady. I’m going to wait and see if it’s even worth trying to fix before I rip all of them. Cuz if this turns out just as horrible as the first time, I’m not worrying my pretty little head about it. I got better things to do. in the rain. Change the old guitar string. I got to do now. Fingers crossed. What the crap? Yeah, it’s still off. I give up. I’m not worrying about it. Look what you made me do. Forget you. Forget you. It is not. Sometimes you got to let go and let God. And that’s what I’m doing. All that and nothing changed. I don’t get it. So just forget it. Next, these are going to attach to H Four. All four of them. Come Okay, I’m going to press all these to the yellow. And one of these it’s going to have a D on it. This reminds me of a Marorrow cigarettes box. That’s a marble red box. Okay. All right. Now, this guy. I don’t know why I can’t get this lined up right, y’all. I really don’t understand what the heck I’m doing wrong there. I’m going to rip it again. I’m so sorry. It’s so bad. I know I talked a lot of crap about not caring, but I think I can do it this time. I think I can do it this time. I think I can see my mistake. Just not internet in the right place. You better work this time or I swear this time I’m not doing it again. Not going to. Now, God damn it. Get out of here with that nonsense. Hallelujah. Halleluah. [Music] Halleluah. Hallelu. You look so good now. Hallelu. [Music] It’s a Christmas miracle. All right. Now that I I’m going to fix the other two now. Now that I know I can and did. It’s just pinned in the wrong place. Okay, one more. I’ll go ahead and since this one’s this one’s really good, I’m going to go ahead and put this on it. Look at me. Aren’t y’all proud of me? It took a lot. Aren’t you proud of me, Paul? Got to make sure I’m nesting these. these perfectly cuz they are not forgiving. They are not forgiving books. They scream it from the rooftops if you’re like lined up. Here’s the moment of truth for the ones that I ripped. Heartburn City. You should be perfect. She’s not perfect, but she’s pretty close. So, I’m going to keep her, I guess. That looks perfect. That one’s perfect. What the hey? What? What are you crapping all over my fabric, Lily? Okay, these two There looks just like a marble red box. Oh, that cracks me up. No, that was not my cigarettes back when I smoked. Back when I smoked, I started out with Virginia Slims Menthol and eventually I started smoking Marboro menthol. So, my packs have the great dark green top. Oh my gosh, I’m so glad I quit smoking, y’all. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I did it. Patches. Patches is what worked for me. and lots and lots of strong like bull willpower. Uh I probably wouldn’t have succeeded if not for Sam honestly cuz he is the one that really wanted me to quit smoking and I would have probably kept smoking. I liked it. Sam did not so he gets a lot of the credit too cuz I would have gave up the struggle. Tell you what, I will never go back though. I don’t want to go through that quitting cycle again. It’s been she still was little. So she’s probably about three, two or three when I quit. So it’s probably been about two years now or more cuz she’s 14 now. I do remember Stella being upset that I was quitting though and she’d be like, “No, don’t quit. You’re supposed to smell your grow up. Sam would get so mad. Stella, stop saying that. Stella Okay, this is I’m really digging how this is turning out. Look how good those corners are lined up, too. I might give myself an A+ on this one. just even though that one’s not perfect. Um, if I can get this lined up, all right, I’m going to go ahead and be generous with myself and give myself an A+. Now, I’m nervous about it. Now, I might need to pin the center. It’s so close to perfection. All right, she’s finished. Drum roll, please. [Music] Yes. Yes. It looks good, y’all. It’s lined up perfectly. Wow. How did I do it? It is a mystery. It is a mystery. Let’s take it down to the floor to look at it. I am pleased as freaking punch with this. That’s fabric. Like I said, I’m giving myself an A+ on this guy. I’m very pleased with it. Give me a thumbs up if you like the video, guys. Subscribe if you like to watch so with me. And we’ll see you at the next one. [Music]

  1. It's so odd how I'm not into the block just by looking at the pattern, but when it's made it looks so much better. Love the colors/prints you picked. I hope to do my block later today or tomorrow after cleaning. I've been putting it off for a while so I gotta get it done. Just hate cleaning when I have more better things to do like quilting and watching quilty YouTubes.

  2. Your block looks lovely! Good job! I always pin, but it doesn’t always mean that my seams are perfect. I need to catch up on my blocks. I’m 2 behind.

  3. The block looks great Andrea. I’m proud of you for getting Jack out and pinning. That usually helps…but not always as we know. Fingers crossed my Sew Sampler box arrives tomorrow…otherwise I have to wait until Monday. Looking forward to sewing this block. Can’t believe it’s #7 already. Time is going by way too fast. See you next time.
